Letter from the Shasta Leadership Team

Dear Black Bear Families,

We would like to extend an enormous appreciation to the many families that made our study trips a reality this week! At Summit Shasta, our mission is to prepare a diverse population of students for success in college and to be thoughtful contributing members of society. This week, our freshmen, sophomores, and juniors lived that mission in the following ways:

  • Students visited 10 college campuses across the state to learn about different types of colleges and universities
  • Students experienced independence in a new environment and for the 10th and 11th grade, spent a night away from home
  • Built into each trip was intentional community building to ensure students are forming relationships within their diverse classes

These study trips are an essential part of ensuring we prepare all students to meet our mission by the time they leave our campus in Daly City. We could not do trips like this without your partnership- thank you for your continued support!

Summit Shasta will be closed for Spring Break the week of April 8th. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday, April 15th for our final round of Expeditions. The Shasta Bulletin will resume on Sunday, April 14th.

Have a fun and restful break!

Wren, Ava, and Adelaide
