Letter from the Shasta Leadership Team

Dear Black Bear Families,

Thank you for your support ensuring we had a strong start to testing season and that our juniors and seniors were rested and energized to take the state exams. This week, testing continues with Advanced Placement (AP) testing. For a complete list of testing details, please see below.

Shasta Recognized as A Best High School in America
In addition, we are thrilled to announce that Summit Shasta has been named by U.S. News and World Reports as one of the best high schools in AmericaShasta was ranked as the 62nd best high school in California and received a Gold Medal award. Congrats to our teachers and students on all of their hard work that earned our school this prestigious honor!

Operation Leave No Black Bear Behind
Finally, we want to share with all families the launch of our initiative, Operation Leave No Black Bear Behind. This initiative will be our school push to have all content completed by Friday, May 17th. To support students in reaching this goal, teachers will hold workshops on specific focus areas and mentors may facilitate peer tutoring within mentor groups.

Students who do not meet the Friday, May 17th deadline will need to attend Saturday school and office hours for the remainder of the year. We believe this is important because completing all needed content by May 17th will lighten the load substantially as students look to revise projects and reach for their goal grades as the year ends. This will also leave time for additional focus areas, another way to raise your grades.

We look forward to a great week!

Wren, Ava, and Adelaide
